UN certification process of box 4G / 4GV

Boxes certified UN 4G and 4GV are certified packaging that can be used for the transport of dangerous goods. The important difference from these two kinds of boxes is for the inner packaging that can be inserted inside. More precisely, UN certified 4G boxes are suitable only in combination with the specific inner packaging with which they have undergone the tests, while UN certified 4GV boxes can be used for shipping objects or inner packagings of any kind, for liquids or solids of packing group I, II, III.

For shipping dangerous goods it is not possible to use an ordinary packaging. Even if in the packing instruction is indicated the alphanumeric code 4G (fibreboard box), it does not mean that it is possible to use an ordinary UN certified 4G box.
